I originally started out on classical piano accordion where I learned theory and grades, and then in my teens started learning to play guitar - originally rock music, including punk, new wave and rockabilly.

From there I progressed into all kinds of music, from Blues, Funk, Jazz, some classical and flamenco. 

Through the 1980s and beyond was heavily influenced by guitarists such as Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteem - this was when I started learning and applying theory directly to the guitar.

As a Guitar Teacher, It is really exciting..

when a Guitar student realises they can

• play something that is meaningfull to them; whether its overcoming one of their stumbling blocks, frustrations,
•  or taking their playing to the next level or even
• playing something for the first time.

This then becomes exciting to their family and/or friends when they see and hear them perform Live On Stage for the first time.

Students tell me this experience changes how others think about them.. and how they think about themselves... for the better!
